Back to Business

26 Nov

Welcome back!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and enjoyed the short break. Even though, I was a little under the weather for a few days, I basked in the glory of taking the entire week off from my 9 - 5, and now it's time to get back to business.

I didn't post anything last week because I figured everyone was busy preparing for Thanksgiving and wouldn't have time to read it, but I was wrong. I actually had somebody ask where last week’s blog was, which made me feel really good to know someone is reading them!

In the last post I mentioned my podcast interview with Kea, well here is the link I also put her website information in the source link below, just look for air date November 19, 2018. It was a pleasure speaking with Kea and I encourage you to listen when you have a chance, as well as share it with anyone you know.

In that same post I announced my recent accomplishment of becoming a life coach but decided to talk about it this week. First, I just want to say, God set me up! Before you reprimand me for my last statement, let me explain why I say that. Several months ago, I spoke to someone about showcasing my series at an upcoming event. She asked, if I planned to continue writing or did I see myself speaking at engagements, becoming a life coach, etc.

Well, me being the person I am, told her I only planned to write my life story. She went on to say, God had more for me than just being an author (which I thought was a great accomplishment), and I would speak to audiences and coach people also. I didn't dismiss what she said, but I had no intentions of participating in anything she mentioned either; so, I said, "Oh okay." and went on my merry way.

Shortly after our conversation, I got my first speaking engagement at a mother/daughter tea event (click the source tab below). Some time passed following that event, and out of the nowhere a young lady contacted me via text regarding a few things happening in her life and asked what she should do about them. Well, the first thing I did was pray, because I didn't want to give her my opinion, but I wanted to help. We texted for about 15 minutes, then she thanked me and expressed how much she appreciated my help.

About a week after our text, I was driving in my car, minding my own business, and this idea popped into my head to become a life coach. I literally tried to shake the feeling and said it wasn't God (even though I knew it was). Once again, being who I am, I needed a little confirmation; so, I questioned that same thought I shook off minutes earlier. I didn't know how to coach anyone; and what qualified me to be a life coach? Why did I ask those questions? I received my answers immediately; God said, "Because you did the exact same thing a week ago and your life experience qualifies you."

At that moment all I could do was smile and say, "God you are something else." I would like to say that was the end of my questions, but it wasn't. As I began studying to become a life coach, I realized there are several areas of expertise as a coach. So, my next question was, "God what should I specialize in?"

Spiritual Health and Wellness is my coaching know-how and now I’m certified to do it! I didn't want to go into details on my last post simply because I wanted to explain the how and why behind this new venture. So, I’m taking new clients!

Until the next blog, I pray God's favor and blessings on your life!
